Really...you are not going to believe this.
So Friday morning we were off to my surgery. Note: thursday night T. and I went out for a last supper of sorts and I had THE best steak. I am not a "must have meat" person as I was a vegatarian for roughly six years but boy it was good. ANYWAY, we go to the hospital and the parking gate is frozen shut. I had to exit the car and hike to the entrance in the cold, dark and not so great area of the city. Cut to scene of me in pre op and very nervous. After being calmed down (I have a great fear of going under or rather not waking up) I got my first hit of sleep wonderful drug. Zip off to the operating table. What seemed like minutes later I was gently woken up thinking "wow it doesn't really hurt" well yes because THE ELECTRICITY WENT OFF WHILE I WAS UNDER AND BEFORE THEY CUT IT WOULDN'T STABILIZE SO THEY HAD TO WHEEL ME OUT AND WAKE ME UP. Yes, the generator wouldn't kick on in BLANK hospital. The breathing tube had already been shoved down my throat and did it's bit of damage. I am once again rescheduled.
I have no further comment on this chapter in the book of me.
So I have done what any other girl would do - shoe shopped. I got a fabulous new pair of pointed toe flats. Right now I am going back and forth from ebay searchign "pumps". Also I am wearing a COMFY new pair of Laura Ashley slippers (note: may have to chnage the name of the blog, haha) bought at a deep discount of $5.
So I guess it IS back to work tomorrow.
Oh I must repeat a conversation in our household
T: You're gonna want to turn the dryer on
Me: Why?
T: Well I put the stuff in but wasn't sure how long to put it in for
ME: Well normally when in doubt put it in for a shorter time than you normally would.
T: Well I wasn't sure so you might want to turn it on.
What kind of enabler have I become to let him actually think THAT would work and I would skip down and turn that right on? I hang my head in shame.
