Today I booked a mini trip for our five year wedding anniversary.
Ah it seems like just yesterday that Mom was tipsy at the rehersal dinner and then passing out xanax before the ceremony*. Let's not forget the reception venue closing a week before the big day. And the fact I HATED my wedding dress (yes hated, and if I ever get toned and terrific I will buy another to wear for a whole day of my chosing to erase the monstrosity of ivory I had to wear from my mind) not to mention my shoes which I ditched at the last minute (after spending a fortune and then more to dye them) for a pair in my closet. I don't recommend consuming 5 bottles of champagne with your BF the night before** And thus realizing the night before OOPS I forgot to think about transportation (no limo for me, just my step father chauffering the MINI VAN with the racing flags on top so they don't lose it in parking lots, rock on!) And who can forget Drunk Rosie whom I had never met before slurring her words and yelling at me that I will never speak to her again (huh). Let's face it - it was a special special evening.
Best of all what's better than waking up the next day and remembering your overnight bag was left in the forementioned Mini Van. You have no clothes but the loathed wedding dress that now does not make you "glow" and have to call your parents because you have to "get dressed".

Ah yes. It seems like yesterday.

*we had a few takers
**It spurs you on to make prank calls to ex boyfriends and appparently change your voicemail to claim your are "Stacy" (think Wayne's World) in case someone has caller Id. You only remember this as you are en route to your honeymoon and check your messages and are confused as to why it says in your voice "Hi you've reached, like, Stacy". You worry about what you DON'T remember
