I have come to silence the crickets from chirping.

It has been a week with ups and many downs. Sadly my BFF & hubs adoption fell through. Details which I feel are not mine to discuss. It was rough though. A blow. I have tried to be there and be a shoulder. On top of that another friend of mine who was pregnant with twins has lost one. Another huge blow. It put again in perspective that being unable to have children (cancer girl) may have one edge to it. It's black and white. It's a steady sadness. That I can seem to handle better than if I were in their shoes. Once again the hubs and I have made the decision that if we can't afford the high cost of adoption we can't afford a child. It's not that a child deserve every material good for comfort but we agree needs to be raised by two people that aren't eyeing dry dog food as retirement kibble for themselves.

So onward.
This week has also brought on a lot of searching for a 2nd opinion surgeon. T. has to have surgery on his neck and frankly I would rather have it done now before the snow and ice comes to good old B'Flo.

Books books books. My book club is reading The Time traveler's Wife. Very good so far. I also picked up a few others to read. I will be happy when the fence is finished and I can go back outside to read, relax and let the pups play.

Last night T. was fast asleep, we had Kelsey snuggled right between us snoring happily and Zophia was at T's legs flopped on her back long legs flowing in every direction and I sighed, very content. This is my family.
