I found myself spending my day with my friend and her newly adopted baby girl. Her husband had to go out to their cottage to attend to a few things so I swooped in.
I won't go into the whole story but it has been a great event. They have been trying for a number of years to adopt and had one heartbreak after another and BOOM a phone call came and within 24 hours they were parents!
Now how odd is this. Another of our friends had a baby girl on April 9th and my friend's sister had a baby girl the same day she brought home Ladybug (our family nickname for her!) - VERY odd timing. But all this wonderfulness makes me dust off my Auntie Mame guidebook. Because really darling, everyone needs an Auntie Mame. And I promise to be IT for this little one.

So ladybug I am making a few resolutions.

*I will buy you new shoes all the time. For no reason. Other than you are cute.
*I will give you the extra cookie. Because I can.
*I will listen to you talk in a language all your own.
*I will help you be happy with yourself
*I will help you become a lovely wonderful human being
*I will never tell you I don't have time.
*I will take you to Disney World
*I will explain books are a window to wherever you want to go.
*I will never leave you without a hug.
*i will tell you over and over how much your parents longed for you and how you made their hearts complete.
