I know Ms PBS has been in one of her mysterious disappearing funks. I somehow get tangled up in the three demensional world and blogging sadly sits by the phone waiting. All dressed up no place to go.
I had a nice Fourth of July. My sister and BIL were over. A fun time was had by all. The pups were lavished with attention and stood fixated on the "magical meat machine" (aka grill.) Yesterday I hit a few yard sales. I only picked up two items. An antique coffee holder - there's a story behind it- and a chalkboard. I had a vision. The chalkboard is a nice size but not too big. It's older and therefore very well made. I sanded it down and we painted it black yesterday. It looks sharp. I am now torn where to put it. I wanted to hang it in the kitchen (see Pottery Barn catalog) or in the "Bumble Bee" room. The guest room is yellow and black. Then again it could go in the game room in the basement. Suggestions?
On another note I very much must start budgeting. I ended up in the red this month and am not happy about it. I am debating courses of action. Tightening purse strings along with a second job might work. The thing is I so don't like working two jobs. I did it for well decades and thought I was where one wouldn't have to. Honestly I can't wrap my head around how people make it these days. We don't have children, do not go out on the town-heck we don't even go to the movies anymore, we don't do fancy dinners out, we don't entertain that often...how do people do it? I guess that is the core of my fustration lately. I started even (gulp) borrowing from the library. Not that I am opposed but I like buying books and supporting authors. My library gives me the creeps. wait, before I get offtrack...so I don't know. What are your budgeting tricks? Does anyone have any helpful suggestions?
I'm thinking you should entertain at your house...hint..hint. Or take your dogs on a walk...hint...hint.
ReplyDeleteI would create a spreadsheet with a budget and stick to it, that's what I am in the process of doing. I always did it before but stopped and am now getting back into the swing of things.
I really need help in this area.
