I have spent the better part of the last five days transferring books to my new bookshelves and creating a little reading nook. Easier said than done as my house is the size of a postage stamp and in between the bookshelves is Mr. PBS’ pride and joy the jumbo flat screen TV. But despite set backs of trying to reread each book as it goes on the shelf I press on. I want a cozy nook to cuddle up in with a cup of tea* and a good book. I simply crave it.
Years ago I owned THE BEST chair for this very thing. It was handed down to me from a relative. It was comfy and big enough to swing your legs up onto and scrunch under a blanket. The back sloped just right, not too angled not too straight. The cushions were ever so comfortable. It was perfect. Then sadly I moved from a spacious apartment to an economically friendly (read TINY) one. The chair couldn’t go with me. I graciously passed it on to a friend and since have lost track of it’ whereabouts (I’m sensing the old fashion floral motif was not her brother’s “bag” when she moved out.) I wish now I would have passed it on with the disclaimer if ever it was going to be deemed out with the old it would have to be passed back to yours truly. Sigh. I have been scouring the thrift shops and furniture shops and they have turned up nothing. The Perfect Chair is out there. I know it.

*better yet a cup of Gevalia Stockholm Roast and a warm scone.
