First I want to say a big Sorry to my friend down south. I know I have been a bit unattentive lately and even in your midst of being swamped at work have checked in to see how things are with me. Work has been busy for me (training two people and doing my job) but no excuse.
I am going to MAKE time for the important things like touching base with friends!
On my other agenda apparently I have thrown away a decent job offer. Stupid loyalty to my company. It was in my hands but something didn't feel right. You know when you have a that feeling something doesn't add up? Like the interviewer leaving you standing in the middle of a building so they can go to the cafateria for a water run? The interviewer having a down trodden look with jokey things from The Office strewn about (and this is the boss). I stepped into the middle of NOT the office on The Office but the office that really exsists for The Office to make fun of. I was waiting for Pertzel Day to be announced over the oudspeaker. Anyway the job was really a good challenge in a new field (for me). Still something is/was not adding up right. I did realize they were looking at relocating staff to my city because the likened it to the Bombay of the USA ("Cheap labor" was mentioned). Not very warm and fuzzy. Let me backtrack to the first interview that I thought I had somehow blown when it ended with "Well if someone else doesn't float my boat we'll call you". Now what does one do with that sentence when walking out of an interview? From that I got a second interview? Man what do they say if they don't like you?????
I did look around at the cubicles and taking stock no one looked over 25 yrs old and looked very pissed off.
So long story short company loyalty made me stick my heels in (this was three minutes away from my house!) and say ut uh, no way. Now this is when usually some freakish coincidence of murphy's law comes and pop's my knees with a bat, takes me down, makes me cry like a little girl. In other words this is when my work usually screws me over. So I am just waiting to see what fun stuff irony has lined up for me.
