It's saturday morning and I am sick. I have a dry cough and my throat feels like sand paper. I am shuffling around in old flame red sweat pants, a black t shirt and my red n black "old lady" cardigan sweater. So I may be feeling like poop but I look oh so stylish.
Last night I went to bed before NINE o'clock. That would be ok if I was 7 yrs old OR had been out bar hopping all day but no. I am just sick.

I have been on a reading frenzy lately. I can't get enough of books. My obsession is ordering off of Amazon from the USED section. Really, brand new at bargin prices. I love it.
I was invited to join a book club and the first book is Ninteen Minutes. Not my typical choice of reading so I am nervous but I hear it's an awesome read. What are my typical choices? Historical, funny, romantic, biography, family drama, chick lit - I am just not a mystery, sci fi, horror (ah sometimes) or political reader. Oddly my my Mother (aka reading mentor!) LOVES political novels. If it's a novel involving the president or white house she is all over it. My mother taught me my love of reading early on. Summer mornings she would grab a cup of coffee and her book and go sit out on the front porch. I would toddle along with my latest Judy Blume or Little House book and apporoved beverage. To this day early morning in the summer wells up those memories. I tell her all the time how I loved my first "book club".

BTW On a happy note my furry child did NOT have to have surgery yesterday. The vet gave her a once ove rwhen we arrived and her lump was actually going down in size. We are waiting it out and keeping an eye on it. YAY.

I have been trying to search out new and amusing blogs to read. When I get a chunk of time (Q: Hey PBS weren't you just off for two weeks stuck at home recovering from your surgery? Didn't you have time then? PBS: whatever) I will list them out. the QC Report is a good read. It is by Quinn Cummings (the former child actress, Goodbye Girl). Witty musings about raising her daughter and life in general.

The Hubs is back with breakfast (a benefit of whining and playing up your illness) so I will sign off!
