Maybe you can help me understand.
I get the fact not everyone "digs" animals. I myself have two gorgeous and funny furry friends. You've heard me talk about them. I bet you feel so close to them you almost think they peed in your house too! But I digress. Let's just say I love my pups. So I can't wrap the thought around my (pea size) brain WHY or HOW anyone can hurt or abandon a creature so dependent on you. What has gone wrong in someone's life that would give them any pleasure in this? I have watched two dogs come into our home thin, abused and neglected and have thrived. They are DIVAS. One won't sleep without her "staff" bring her her fleece blanket and the other waits patiently for the "staff" to fluff her pillow. Mr PBS and myself thrive in their happiness. Do you know how cute it is to watch a 6'3" man all scruffy from work practically leap by you when he gets home to go give the dogs a hug?
I was shocked the week before last traveling through the back countryside at the number of right out in the elements crowded dog pens one could see from the road. I cried for the animals. I cried for me not being able to go get them. I cried for the people who think that's alright.
So I give you this. An opportunity for SOMEONE to explain. What could an animal possibly have done to be hurt, tossed away, starved or beaten?
I don't understand how people can be cruel to animals either.
