I got up at 3am to get ready for Black Friday shopping.
Out the door at 4:30am with NO, I repeat, No Coffee.
Drove past the Blvd and was in shock and awe - what recession and what are all these people waiting for? Tim Horton's was PACKED at each potential stop. Finally got coffee though (and small snack #1.) BFF and I decided to got to Niagara Falls stores as ironically all the Cancadians by pass that and drive a little further to my neck of the woods. Arrive at destination. Line not that bad for Target. Bundle up and approch anxtious crowd. Five minutes later decide "F this" and walk for snack #2 and shelter. Grocery store still closed for Turkey lurkey day. Start back to Target and notice Aj Wright has a vestibule. read ENCLOSED. Decide that is where we will shop first.
Are the first (and only) in line. By time doors open feels like hundreds behind us.
Doors open for the running of the bulls, er I mean shoppers.
Score a few items looking for.
Check out no wait.
Head to target.
BFF misses wanted TV by one person. Breaks down. I receive distraught voicemail from otherside of store. Ironically bff spots an abandon TV at that moment. I have wandered off and was procuring other items when I notice an abandon TV in my area. Know BFF wants it. Drag it with me to her location. She buys both. I buy one stick vac ($10) and The Office season 3.
Proceed on to other discount retail store. Mad house but (!) has FREE (!!) donuts!!!
SCORE! Eat my weight in Timbits. Other customer eating brings sparking cider over and pops that baby open. Run. Run away fast.
(By this time I have had several updated text messages from friends spread out citywide. Most scored the items they were looking for. This is a first. Celebrated with cookies packed up as refreshments by BFF)
Head back to home turf and wander into Toys R Us as BFF now has child. It simply looks like WWIII. Floor covered with items. People grabbing still. We come up with items needed for said child. I have now completed her first birthday shopping - for May.
Stop for lunch at local food court.
Insanity. Very scared. Where did all my lovely stores go in he mall? Very upsetting. Only Mrs Fields look familiar. Head to Penny's. BFF goes full gusto. I buy towels at $2.99 (reg. $7.99) because I am that boring.
But they are so very lovely. And not threadbare.
Head back to my house. Unload car. Bye bye BFF.
Nap.
Wake.
Eat dinner.
At this moment I have a raging headache and feel hungover.
Only 364 days til we do it again!
I really should have gotten up early to get my KitchenAid Mixer, but I didn't.
ReplyDeleteWe HAVE to get together soon! Seriously, it's been way too long since we have seen each other!
