This being my ultimate favorite time of the year I am buzzing with all kinds of activities.
My two favorites being watching Christmas movies and baking.

I am sure we all have our own taste when it comes to both. My flavor for movies lies in the old black and white. Bishop's Wife, Christmas in Ct, It's A wonderful Life. Then there is Holiday Inn (my sister and I can do a mean version of "Sisters" - when I say mean I mean as in mean to other people to have to witness such a horror!) But one can't rule out A christmas Story (I have been hooked since I saw it on HBO in '85) and the endless sappy ones you see on the Hallmark channel hour after hour.

I do also love baking diring this season. I generally prefer baking to cooking meals anyway but now there is just a certain joy in baking. This year's recipe is a new favorite.

Triple-Chocolate Cranberry Oatmeal Cookies. Mine flew off the shelf already (though Mr PBS will not touch them since they "have lots of chunks n stuff" - whatever dude)

My family has a few traditions. We open stocking gifts (they are a big deal in our crowd)then break for orange rolls and coffee. We have the German pickle prize Bru haha. We of course have 24 hours of A christmas Story playing. Our appetizer is always celery stuffed with cream cheese and olives. Dinner then dessert. The day then wraps up and the visitors pile in their car and head home. This year it's at my house.

Are you baking anything new and exciting this year? Do you have a favorite recipe to share? What are your holiday plans?
